when to use pa vs pa rin?
I was listening to the Tagalog News Podcast (thanks to the devs for including it), I heard/read "(1)Pinal na code of conduct sa South China Sea, wala pa ring nangyari"
when do you use 'pa rin' vs just 'pa'

Hi! I’d use “pa rin” over just “pa” if there’s a longer time involved in the “wait” or “process” (like if it’s taking longer than expected.)
Example 1:
A: Dumating na ba siya?
B: Hindi pa.
(10 minutes later...)
A: Ano, dumating na ba siya?
B: Hindi pa rin eh.
Example 2:
“Kahit anong pilit kong kalimutan ka, ikaw pa rin ang laman ng puso ko.”
Example 3:
“Manalo ka man o matalo, ikaw pa rin ang kampyon (champion) para sakin.”
For examples 2&3, it’s like “after all is said and done...”
I guess “pa rin” can be translated to “still”, like for Example 1, (B) would say, “He hasn’t arrived,” and then, “He still hasn’t arrived.”

I agree with the response of TeacherRome although I think “pa” and “rin” may still retain their separate meanings even when they are used together.
When “pa” immediately follows the words “wala” or “hindi” it translates to “yet”.
Although “rin” or “din” means “also/too”, when used with “wala/hindi pa” it translates to “still (up to now)”.
Here’s another example similar to that given by TeacherRome but using “wala” instead of “hindi”.
A: Nandito na ba si Jack? = Is Jack here already?
B: Wala pa. = Not yet.*
(after a while...)
A: Nandito na ba si Jack?
B: Wala pa rin. = Still not yet.
The phrase “... wala pa ring (rin na) nangyari” translates to “... still nothing has happened yet” or “... nothing has happened yet up to now”.
