What is mean that word 'jan' ? And options have the same word ?

'Jan', also spelled 'dyan' and properly "diyan", means "there".An example in a sentence would be: Diyan yung opisina | The office is there.

Listen to the product selling channels....and you will here the male sellers say...'yaaaaaaaaaaaaantheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere...it is...theeeeeeeeeeeeeeere...you goA number of Radio DJs favor the same style.

Not short and neat.Watch the Filipino Shopping Network. The male sellers use jan frequently in their pitches...as that's the one you need.

@BoraMac Old discussion, I know, but I happened to run across this discussed in the Schachter & Otanes book this afternoon. He calls these words “attention directing deictics”…including hayan/ayan, heto/eto, and hayun/ayun, and are distinct from their ang form equivalents (iyan, ito, iyon). Tagalog Reference Grammar pg 215.

@jkos Never too old discussion in Tagalog...that's usually when I make biggest jumps in understanding.Thanks for the reference...from the ANSWER book.I just group...all the similar concepts...."referential tripplets"......rather than separating just for the purpose of one more grammar term.If I had been presented a table like this...I could have learned these concepts in 30 minutes. But because of love of HALIMBAWA teaching and lack of grouping coordinated ideas...took me maybe 5 years to tie these concepts together.Thanks as always for thoughtful TAGALOG conversations
