Here's a tip for you! a lot of times, I say... aleman ako hindi maruno ako ng ingles... so they ll stop speaking english to me and are force to communitcate in tagalog. A lot of times they are trying to speak english to me lalo na pagkatapos sinabi ko gusto ko magensayo ng tagalog sa kanila... kaya madalas sasabihin ko yan...

Hello Victor. To answer your question, there is no such thing for Filipino/Tagalog outside universities. The closest there is to other proficiency exams is the ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) but it only covers speaking and not other language skills.

@AMBoy I do understand what you mean! I think to start with we just want to communicate with people and can worry about the complexity of grammar and sentence construction. I found most people in Philippines are understanding of my efforts and make allowances for my mistakes.
