Does anyone know any good free resources for starting to learn Tagalog?

My bf is Pinoy and I want to learn Tagalog so that I can talk and familiarize myself with his family, but I'm unsure where to start. Any websites or resources I can learn from? I'd prefer if its free since I'm a broke college student lol.

For grammar, I mainly use Tagalog Grammer-Lite from LanguageCrush (https://languagecrush.com/book/1/52/chapter) and FilipinoPod.101. Filipinopod.101 has 1-week trial. I like to watch 'English-Tagalog Translation' and 'Talk to me Tagalog' or 'Speak Tagalog with JC' on YouTube too. I definitely need more practice on speaking and listening too though. I use Glossika too but this may bit hard for the absolute beginner. Glossika has 1-week trial and also will have October challenge. If you are interested, entry deadline is 30th September(https://mailchi.mp/glossika/challenge). I'm also a broken student and have Filipino boyfriend. haha There are a lot of free and great resorces online! I hope you will enjoy learning Tagalog

Tagalog.com(THIS WEBSITE) has a lot of resources too! I use the dictionary function every day and watch YouTube with subtitles here too.

You can download some PDFs from libgen.is. There's a lot of tagalog resources there. I was able to get some dictionaries and some tagalog textbooks from there.

Try Philippine Headstart. It is free on the Internet. This is the language program developed by the U.S govt. for diplomats, etc. it’s put out by the Monterey Defense Language Institute in Monterey California. This is arguably the best language school in the world.

This was an actual course they offered online during covid (its been picked back up in person, so there are some broken links that I've asked to get fixed, but they're busy). Really great resource that got me started.
