Doraemon Tagalog

Tagalog dubbings of Japanese anime tend to be good. I even prefer the Tagalog dub of Naruto compared to the English dub. I think Filipino voice actors are.more talented than many mainstream actors

@akosikonehoThanks for the recommendation! I listened to it for a few minutes and this should be useful when sometime in the future for when I intend to start listening to things without the transcript.If only they had closed captions in Tagalog so that every time I come across an unknown word I could easily figure out what the word was... but that's just me being me again.

@Bituingmaykinang Yeah, Japan is way different culturally but... something about Anime in Tagalog or Manga in Indonesian just seem to fit... things like mochi (tikoy) make sense if you are in a Filipino context.I also agree that the voice actors really nail it... the unofficial peppa pig dubs are awful though. Before Disney went all nazi the Tagalog Disney dubs were great. I recall falling in love with the Tagalog dubbed Moana clips.

@Scrover Happened to me, had exactly one word in 25 minutes or so of Doraemon I didn't get. Was able to type it into TLDC whilst watching though , don't worry! Free yourself from the transcripts. When I negotiate rentals here, or haggle at the market I don't have that luxury.

@akosikonehoWish my vocabulary was that wide! Something to aspire to I guess.Usually I find that if I can't understand something well without a transcript it's usually because of lack of vocabulary or lack of exposure. Hence the transcript is what I use to help me "fill in the blanks" (as well as "read while listening" too). More reason I guess to expand my vocabulary even further.

I don't learn a language to watch cartoons or anime of any type but because I'm desperate due to lack of materials I think I will be giving this a try.

@Scrover Careful of transcripts...after creating hundreds over the past year...I am confident the english tilts heavily towards written interpretations...and doesn't really flow as the spoken word.I would say work find translations of pop songs...same issue...but you will find a bunch of power phrases...and pure pinoy usages that are hard to dig up elsewhere.

@BoraMac I think he means a literal transcript of the Tagalog, not translations.
