My name is Melissa. I am from Australia and I am half Filipino. I have been fortunate to visit the Philippines approximately 6 times with my parents to visit my family. I can speak basic Tagalog phrases and know common words e.g. What is your name, How old are you, various greetings, numbers, etc. I find that I can understand more than what I can speak, especially when in the Philippines. I would really like to continue learning Tagalog and expanding my skills so that I can communicate with my family as the language barrier has been difficult during my visits. Also now that I am older, I want to become more fluent in Tagalog so that I am able to go back without having to rely on my Mum. I've tried to learn Tagalog on my own in the past but I find it difficult to maintain consistency, so I appreciate any tips anyone can provide! Salamat
