Hello !!
My name is Brad Swerte. I am from Merica and I am a native Filipino language speaker.

I am restudying the Filipino language because in recent years, accents and diactritical marks have started to be used in writing in Filipino.

@Bradswerte626 Hmm...not really outside of learning materials though, right? Where have you been seeing this?

@jkos Thanks - I see many posts on show-show media that use accented letters, for example. And earlier I googled "kawanggawa" and it showed as an alternate spelling of "kawang-gawa" with accented letters, that I cannot type here

What are examples of show-show media? In social sharing, I frequently see people explaining affixes and ligatures/connectors with hyphens. Punctuation...meh...we have markers...why punctuate?

Yes, in English, that's my common practice. And...in Tagalog...I use punctuation and space as well. But I don't notice much punctuation in Filipino sentences that commonly run 20 - 30 words. Plenty of examples if we want to search in TDC. And really, with all the markers, ligatures, connectors, etc....punctuation is not as necessary.

For my eyes, still useful.
