Hi everybody,

Can someone please explain to me why sometimes there is a "ng" between the subject and the verb that follows, sometimes not?
Examples:
- Maaga akong gumising, pero nalate pa rin ako.
- Anong oras kayo gumigising sa umaga?

(the above sentences come from tagalog.com website)

Thanking you in advance!

Marc

@MarcGC
In the first example, maaga is describing how you were waking, so it should be linked.
The second example is a different structure that doesn’t require linking.
