I'm also of Filipino descent, my family came from bangued to the US after the war, but I never got to learn any of the language or traditions in my family. Hey there! My name's Charles. I'm Canadian and I started learning Tagalog about 2 years ago; I've been to the Philippines a couple times because I used to live in Asia.
I still have lots of friends in the Philippines that I keep in touch with, which has allowed me to develop my vocabulary and basic understanding of sentence structure, but I've never had any formal training. I'm hoping I can go more in-depth into the grammar and subtleties of Tagalog here. Hope to come here more frequently!
