Kunwari vs Kumbaga

I always get these two words mixed up. Could someone share some usage examples and any mnemonic tricks? Salamat.

Hm. My 2c. Kunwari is used more like the word "pretend", either literally, or in the sense of making hypotheticals. Kumbaga is more for making simile statements. I'll leave usage examples up to the natives.

Kunwari is "pretend" (as in pretend that you live in Mars), kungbaga/kumbaga is "in other words..." Or "in another example..."

native speaker here:

"Kunwari, kakain ka ng almusal."
"Let's say, you'll eat breakfast."

Kunwari is kind of used like the expression 'Let's say-'; (Let's pretend)
It's used to "paint" scenarios in the head of the person(s) you're talking to.

---
Kumbaga means 'so to speak', 'as if', 'in other words'.

@Dakila Kunwárì is "hypothetically". Kumbagá is "so to speak"

Root words usually hint at the meaning for these words.

wári = "to imagine"
Wári ko'y úulan "I think it's gonna rain"

bagá = "to put it another way"
Itó bagá "like this one; this one, so to speak" (not really sure how the root word is used but almost equivalent to visayan "ba!")

Both root words are quite archaic or dialectal in usage nowadays.
