Question: Who are some of your favorite Tagalog speaking YouTubers? And also, can you recommend any really good Filipino dramas (I don't want anything too cheesy though heheh). My favorite genre is horror and fantasy.

Foreigner or local?

Only Chris Urbano, IMO, have legit Tagalog skills (youtuber).

The other foreigner is not a Youtuber but he has documentaries uploaded to youtube. Rafe Bartholomew

These two are the only legit Tagalog-speaking foreigners I have seen. Others are just pandering to Pinoys or are fooling clueless foreigners

As for good Filipino dramas, you are out of luck. You are better off looking for older Filipino movies like Guwapings, Spirit Warriors, Magic Temple, Takot Ka Ba Sa Dilim?

Keith Talens is who I watch frequently. I like his vlogs, as well as his pranks and challenges. He lives in the Philippines.
I also watch Pambansang Kolokoy. He speaks Tagalog in the majority of his videos. He has various content from challenges, to short comedy skits (He hasn't uploaded any in a while). However, some of his jokes are a little dirty. If I remember correctly, he and his wife are Filipino immigrants to the United States.
I have not seen much filipino dramas that are horror/fantasy. In my opinion, ABS-CBN has more impressive teleseryes based on what I've watched. That's just my opinion (there might be some Kapuso fans who disagree with me). I haven't watched any horror ones so I can't give opinions on those.
If you're based in the United States, ABS-CBN has "tfc" or "the filippino channel" website available for viewing some of their movies or teleseryes online. Their free plan gives you a decent list of movies that are available for free. You might not like all the movies available, but the website make a good resource if you're wanting to find some movies.

@AmboyBaritone
Good suggestions!
Man, I watched Keith Talens’ video on Father’s Day when his dad passed away unexpectedly...that was brutal...made me question the ethics of the video, too...

@AmboyBaritone

Yeah I prefer ABS-CBN, but Kapuso is known to be good for documentaries.

@jkos,
I remember that video of Keith's. In my opinion, I do not think he should have posted that, and instead made a different video honoring his father (he said in a follow-up that his father wanted to be in his vlogs) instead, but I understand that the news was shocking to him. I chose not to hold that against him though, since the rest of his videos are still good

@AMBoy
"Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho" is one of my favorite GMA-7 Documentaries. I've heard from someone that GMA-7 is better in the News delivery, while ABS-CBN is better in Dramas (Not sure I believe that is true). I've also heard that GMA-7 has better Telefantasya series, but I haven't seen any. From all GMA-7 teleseryes I've seen, they all seemed a bit faked, as if everything was done in a corny way, whereas all I've seen from ABS-CBN so far, the scenes looked more natural.

@AmboyBaritone ABS CBN has better execution than GMA, although GMA tends to be more daring in concepts.

I mean, I like the idea of Amaya, a drama set on precolonial times, but the execution is very poor. It is such a shame because the costumes were nice (they were based on the Boxer codex) and introduced many lesser known myths but the scriptwriting was very cringy.

@Bituingmaykinang
From the GMA-7 TV series I've seen, the scenes in general were either mediocre, or just corny in execution. I know I should start getting used to watching GMA-7 teleseryes, because of ABS-CBN's shutdown and all that.

All I know is Wish 107.5 does high quality music videos, and ABS-CBNs are garbage, they need to learn something.

@AMBoy I guess every network in the Philippines has its strengths and weaknesses. I do not like ABS-CBN for its music videos.

@Bituingmaykinang LOL...there isn't but even those are better done than most things ABS puts out. Plus I meant their concerts videos and stuff.

@AMBoy that's what I meant. The Wish Bus performances are top notch. They bring in people who could really sing live and they have a good videographer.
