No one ever taught me Sinta or Giliw...but poof in songs they pop out all the time...because one more pedestrian use of mahal is not going to generate kilig pa more And when I use today...heads spin...my own kilig pa more.

Suplado ka daw. :D Charrr!

Baduy nako! I'm in it for the emotional exchange not the grammar.

Enjoy your journey.

Nice, I never heard of "sinta" yet. It is just like the Malay and Sanskrit word "cinta" (love). Now that the lockdown is easing up, I definitely want to generate kilig pa more!!! Will test it out!

My experience reveals them as perhaps a bit dated or provincial perhaps...to Bituingmaykinang's point as sooo slang...kalye...magulo...whatever. I don't hear it in my experience. And I am moving hearts not peddling perfect arguments in court! :D

And when a pop star wants to move ang puso...sinta naman. Kilig talagaaaaah!

I would love to hear your reactions primesgenato! Good luck.

The fact that "sinta" is dated or baduy is PERFECT. Call a cutie "baby" or "mahal" or "bae" or whatever other cookie-cutter term of endearment? Sure but where's the fun in that?

Just like if I'm dating a girl from China who can barely speak English. If she calls me "dear" then it's run-of -the-mill. But if she unexpectedly calls me "my knight in shining armor", then that will elicit a kilig-ous giggle. Cos it's so damn incongruous.

"Mahal na mahal kita, sinta ko". LMAO that will defo get a good reaction.

A great thing about Filipinos...if the feeling is genuine...the details are all good. Enjoy.
