Question: pag+root

I’ve noticed you can use pag+root to form a gerund, eg pag+lakas=paglakas/strengthening.

However sometimes i notice the first syllable of the root is copied, eg tagumpay becomes pagtatagumpay.

Lastly i’ve noticed you can also duplicate the first syllable twice, eg pansin becomes pagpapansin.

Is there a rule to know how to form these?
