Question: The structure of your base Study Stack...First 1000 words....meeeh

So I thought I could nail the base stack in 1000 words:

Verbs 600 (400 MAG+UM+MA+AN any); 50 MA only; 50 AN only; 50 IN only; 50 I only
Nouns 400
Adj/Adv 200
Grammar / Etc. 100
TOTAL 1300

So at 1300 for the first organization, with hindsight I could probably trim back to 1000 perhaps. But I spent a bunch of time organizing the verbs for balance in memorization, confidence in conjugation and flexibility of use. And with modals, slang, beki, standard phrases, etc. I'll probably end up at 1500 anyway.

Really curious for what set of words was your first milestone and any notion of the balance or verb organization. Great to hear any thoughts or insights on my first cut.

I prefer to use Anki as that's what I'm familiar with. I used this site's export feature to export the flashcards to Anki.

Since the site uses a different format for verbs versus non-verbs, I created 2 Anki decks. I've been adding new words every few days, as and when I encounter them.

Verb deck
I started with verbs from tagalog1.com/verbs_t op_250.asp After trimming the fat, it was about 200 verbs. Currently it's at 500. Breakdown is 301 AF verbs, 2 BF, 46 LF, 155 OF.

Non-Verb deck
Started with the 1000 word list, www.tagalog.com/flas hcards/top_one_thous and_words.php and combined it with the 625 Fluent Forever list, blog.fluent-forever. com/appendix5/ Currently it's almost 1300 words. Originally, the export feature didn't include "noun", "adjective", etc. identifiers. So I can't really check the breakdown of this deck haha.

Here are my Anki decks:

Jkos is working on a top 3000 list based on all the listening practice transcripts. I'm looking forward to this sobra.
