Question: How to use gugulin?

I can only see it as meaning “to spend time”, does that mean you can exclude beses?

E.g. gustong gugulin ko sa iyo-I want to spend time with you.

Looks like the focus is on what was spent (i.e., the time)

"Ginugol niya ang buhay niya para sa Sta. Lucia."

"Sinabi ng isang tagapagsalita na 14 na buwan ang ginugol ng PDEAat iba pang miyembro ng Interagency Committee on Anti-illegal Drugs"

@jkos So something like “mahabang panahon ang ginugol ko para marating ang katayuan ko”. Just to demonstrate an understanding.
