I am using the book "Basic Tagalog for Foreignors and Non-Tagalogs bu Paraluman S. Aspillera www.amazon.com/Tagal og-Foreigners-Non-Ta galogs-Language-Libr ary/dp/08048191
ISBN-13: 978-0804819107
IBSN-10 0804819106

I highly reccomend it for anyone that likes a structured and logical approach to language learning.
BUT I need to practice "hearing" Tagalog this is not provided by a book. I have downloaded eight Tagalog language movies, two with Tagalog subtitles. But can anyone recommend some very slow speaking SIMPLE Tagalog tv shows or movies or videos or cartoons to listen to ?

I need something like "Sesame Street" but in Tagalog.

There is a youtube channel called Learn Filipino with Papa Jeddar, and he speaks slowly and clearly, so people can learn Tagalog through immersion.

If you enable subtitles in some of his videos, then you can get the Canadian English and Filipino translations written by him.

Thank you for all you suggestions. I subscribed to "Tutor of Manila". It is very educational but it is more of a classroom where the teacher speaks in English and then tells you the Tagalog meaning and pronunciation. It is not really conversational. I was seeking something where the speaker speaks Tagalog, slowly, so that I can listen to it and get the meaning. I emphasize SLOWLY. The movies, TV shows and news broadcast that I watch online the speakers are talking so fast that I get lost. I am sure this is typical conversational speed, but for a learner it is like light speed.

@MagaaralTagalog Never seen this one before. His videos have both English and Tagalog subtitles. I like his channel.

I've enjoyed Oliver Austria's videos. They're very visual, and he uses English words for some of the key terms, so as a beginner I've found them easy to understand. His speech is not particularly slow, but it's clear. I've picked up a good deal of Tagalog from his videos.

This is quite entertaining, but has only parts of the video in Tagalog. Still... ;-) www.youtube.com/watc h?v=ncVkdA8CLlw (Tagalog starts at 4:46)
