Is there any way I can learn the grammatical structure of Filipi

If you’re a native English speaker (like me) then focus is probably the hardest part as it changes the verb conjugation.
How to learn? Practice speaking as much as you can with a native speaker. I have sooo much to learn but getting there!

I almost feel like you SHOULDN'T learn grammar specifically. I'd get as many verbs and nouns learned first, then start building sentences as best you can. Take LOADS of input from movies, youtube, music, etc. The grammar starts to become natural.
At least, that's what i've noticed since I started 2 months ago.

@Arianna conjugations in Tagalog involves a lot of affixes. In English, affixes are used to negate (un-), indicate before/after (pre-/post-), indicate lower/higher or more/less (super-/under-), to make a verb into noun (-ment), order (-th, -nd), etc. of the word you are affixing with. In Tagalog/Filipino, affixes are mainly used to conjugate past, present and future tenses of a verb, e.g. root word: ulan = past - umulan, present - umuulan, future - uulan.

Good advice. I started about 8 months ago and I did same. I worked on vocab and just the root of the verb then gradually conjugating it as the rest of the sentence formed more easily

As a native English speaker, focus was and is the hardest part of Tagalog to understand. However, I feel that after practicing for months my mind shifted to think in terms of focus when speaking, hearing. Not a very practical answer, but that really is how it works - you just come to think differently and are then able to more confidently “conjugate” (wrong word but to that effect) verbs.

@AtomizerZero you can't build a proper sentence if you don't learn the basics of the grammar though.You don't want to say "kinain ako ng isda" when you meant "kinain ko ang isda"

@Bituingmaykinang yeh but you'd learn the basics by taking input. You cant say kinain until you learn that word either.. For example.
