Other than trip provisions, "baon" also refers to the monetary allowance or food normally provided by the parent to a child who goes to school. The food that one brings from home or bought along the way and intended to be consumed while at the workplace is also called "baon".

"Ano ang baon mo?" = What food did you bring to school/work?
