If you follow the goal of "Keeping Tagalog.com Friendly," you should have no problem fitting in the with Tagalog.com crowd!

Keep Tagalog.com Friendly, Safe and Welcoming:

Tagalog.com is a privately owned online Tagalog language resource and social group, and you must follow the guidelines below and any moderator requests in order to participate.

A Couple Guidelines:
  • This forum is focused on Filipino Language and Culture. General chit-chat & tsismis (gossip) is fine, too! However: discussions about politics, race, sexuality or religion will be removed.
  • This is not the place to talk negatively about the country of the Philippines, Filipino culture, or Filipino people. Those types of discussions are better to be done elsewhere.
  • No insults, name calling, or inflammatory comments aimed at other members. Refrain from posting personal attacks or grievances publicly. Avoid broad negative generalizations about other Tagalog.com members.
  • This is not the place relationship drama: the forums should not be used to complain about problems with your Filipino spouse, significant other, or Filipino family members.
  • If many people might interpret a message or picture as racist, bigoted or sexist, please refrain from posting it.
  • Don't pretend to be someone else, or post under several usernames.
  • No spying: Please do not post private conversations and ask them to be translated here.
  • Privacy / Anonymity: Most users here appreciate their anonymity. Do not post personal information (real name, address, work place, physical description, email address, family status, etc.) that would betray the anonymity of another member without permission, either publicly or in private messages. We can only enforce your anonymity/privacy if you are careful about giving out your information publicly. If you think someone has violated your privacy, please contact an Admin ASAP.
  • No "cyber-bullying" or "stalking behavior," including: following a member from one discussion thread to another while criticizing him/her; following someone into another thread and trying to continue a disagreement that began elsewhere; disparaging an individual in a thread where that person is not participating.
  • Keep the discussion group forums clean: messages that are too crude may get deleted. Don't post sexually explicit or violent pictures.
  • No business solicitations, advertisements or spam on the forums, please.
  • No promoting social media accounts, Youtube channels, etc. for businesses or for-profit accounts on the forums, please.
  • The "Ignore" feature is meant to reduce conflict. Use it if you need to.
  • Be aware, moderators typically delete the following types of threads: Swan song posts, Posts about ignoring someone, Advertisements, Promotion of other websites or discussion groups or social media accounts, Critiques of moderating (take it to PMs please).
  • Please be careful and accurate when teaching others on the forums, to avoid confusing new students. If you are unsure, make sure you say so. If you are not certain of an answer, consider letting another more experienced participant step in instead. A moderator may have to step in if you are routinely giving incorrect information on the forums.
  • "Keep Tagalog.com Friendly" applies to all participation on the site, including private messages.
Moderators have the final word on moderating decisions. Any message that we feel doesn't keep the Tagalog.com forums friendly and inviting for others, may be removed or locked by moderators. We are willing to discuss disputes in a calm manner, but publicly attacking a moderator, or intentionally undermining a moderator's actions, will get your account locked.
