Ang Coron ay isa sa apat na municipalities na bumubuo sa Calamianes, isang group of islands dito sa bahaging norte ng Palawan.

Sa mga pulong ito, Busuanga Island ang pinakamalaki and divided ito into two,

ang Municipality ng Busuanga and Municipality of Coron.

Coron ang main tourism hub kaya't most accommodations and tours ay dito matatagpuan.

Ito rin ang usual jump off point papunta sa mga surrounding islands,

kaya naman marami sa mga attractions or destinations sa Calamianes ay usually na-associate na rin sa Coron kahit na technically ay part na sila ng iba pang mga towns.

For example, ang Calawit Island and Black Island ay actually part na ng Busuanga Municipality pero most people think na nasa Coron ito.

At saka nga pala, ang Coron Town ay wala sa Coron Island ha.

And meron din namang mas ginagamit ang Busuanga like Philippine Airlines and Sunlight Air.

Speaking of airlines, both Cebu Pacific and PAL fly to Busuanga from Manila and Cebu.

May flights din from Manila ang Airswift and Sunlight Air.

And mayroong ding direct na El Nido to Coron flights ang Airswift.

So as of this recording, ito ang mga flights to and from Coron.

Paglapag mo sa Busuanga Airport, hahanapan ka ng valid ID and booking with a DOT-accredited resort or hotel.

And after mo makuha ang luggage mo, need mong magbayad ng environmental fee na Php 200 for regular travelers

and Php 160 naman for seniors.

After that, pwede ka nang sumakay ng van papunta sa Coron town proper na 30 to 40 minutes lang by land.

Php 250 per person ang flat rate na pamasahe sa van.

May sarili ring pier ang Coron so pwede ka ring mag-travel by sea.

To-go travel has sailings for this route.

It usually leaves Manila at 9 a.m. or 7 p.m. and reaches Coron after an 11 or 12-hour journey.

You'll also use this pier if you're traveling by ferry from Puerto Princesa or El Nido.

When is the best time to visit?

January to April, which is the driest period.

If you'd rather be in the center of the action and within walking distance lang sa mga key points of interest

or kung gusto mo lang ng value for money talaga,

consider staying within the city center,

which has its own collection of lodging options from guesthouses to hostels to budget hotels.

Kami, we prefer staying dito sa Real Street or Calle Real

dahil malapit sa lahat and napapalibutan ng mga sikat and masasarap na food spots.

Maraming reputable pero reasonably priced na hotels dito.

Itong huling trip namin, we stayed sa Treetop Suites.

Pero this wasn't our first time na matry itong boutique hotel na to.

Even before the pandemic, nakapag-stay na talaga kami dito

dahil nga convenient yung location.

Kaunting kembot lang ang boat stations kung saan sumasakay kapag island-hopping tour.

And even yung jump-off point to Mount Tapyas, malapit lang din.

Marami ring nakaabang ng mga tricycle so madali lang kung may gusto kang puntahan.

Treetop Suites has six standard rooms na may two single beds,

six family rooms with two queen beds and balcony,

and two premium family rooms sa may rooftop.

Lahat ng rooms nila ay may ensuite toilet and bath

while may hot and cold shower, cable TV, and safety deposit box.

Each booking also comes with complimentary breakfast,

free-flowing coffee, and access to the lounge pool.

Yung family rooms can accommodate up to four persons kaya at sulit na sulit.

Yung premium family room naman nila sobrang laki.

May living area set din, mini refrigerator, and electric kettle.

Sobrang helpful and friendly din ng staff.

Kasama rin ito sa listahan ng mga accredited na properties ng Department of Tourism.

and Follow Your Taste, ang kauna-unahang yogurt ice cream cafe dito sa Coron.

Malapit din dito ang Inesal Eats, and nasa adjacent street naman

ang isa sa pinakagustokong food spot sa Coron, ang Umami Kusina.

Ito yung dating KT Sinugba sa balay na binigyan lang ng bagong branding and vibe.

Don't worry, gagawa kami ng separate video about these food places

na mas may maraming info including yung mga bestsellers and presyo ng mga dishes.

Pero napansin ko lang na medyo may kamahalan ang mga kilalang restaurants dito sa Coron.

The prices of resto meals range from Php 150 to Php 400.

Yung Php 150 na yun is often composed of just a cup of rice

and a small serving of ulam like tapa, adobo, or liempo.

Pasta dishes are usually at Php 250,

grilled seafood or grilled fish or squid, mga Php 200,

and fruit shake at Php 100 to Php 120.

According sa boatman namin dati,

ito ay dahil most of the ingredients are being imported pa from nearby Mindoro.

If you're not picky, you'll find cheaper meals at karenderias all around town.

Makakakita ka ng tapsilog na mas mababa kaysa Php 100.

May mga curbside barbeque stands din.

And kung hindi ka maselan tulad ko,

satisfying naman yung mga ihaw-ihaw at tuhog-tuhog na Php 10 to Php 25 per stick.

May mga street food stalls din lalo na kapag hapon sa Mayluwalhati Park.

May mcdonalds na nga rin pala akong nakita.

And may mga lechon-manok stalls din para sa mga nagtitipid na mga groups.

Although ilang beses na kaming nakapag Coron,

first time ko palang na ma-explore ito with senior members of our family

nitong huling trip namin.

And one thing that you need to understand about Coron

is that some of its most iconic attractions take some effort bago marating.

For example nga, itong sikat na sikat na Kayangan Lake

mararating lang after an uphill trek na although may hagdan-hagdan naman,

sobrang effort pa rin kahit sa mga fit na travelers.

So imagine, mas nakakapagod siya sa mga seniors

and hindi talaga advisable para sa mga may mobility issues.

Ang Barracuda Lake naman, hindi ganoon kahirap marating

pero need pa rin na itakel itong wooden staircase na ito

and minsan ay madula so baka mahirapan ang mga senior companions natin.

Nagawa naman ang nanay ko yan pero kailangan lang talagang alalayan.

Need din silang alalayan mabuti kapag sumasakay

and bumababa ng bangka lalo kapag malikot ang mga alon.

Super thankful ako kasi grabe yung assistance na binigay

ng boatman namin si Marjun sa mga senior na kasama namin.

Halos hinilan na lang niya sa tubig yung nanay ko papunta sa key spots.

So super thanks kay Marjun and i-book nyo siya

kung papunta kayo ng Coron at kailangan nyo na private boat.

Sa town center naman, most attractions ay easily accessible

kaya walang problema.

Pinaka-na-enjoy ng nanay ko ay ang Makkinit Hot Spring.

Sobrang na-relax daw siya and parang nawala daw yung pananakit niya

sa tuhod and sa paa niya for hours after naming magluglug doon.

Gusto pa nga yata niyang bumalik noong last day for one last dip daw.

When traveling just within Coron town proper,

you can simply take a tricycle.

Halos magkakalapit lang kasi ang mga attractions dito sa bayan.

Kung wala kang mobility issues, kayang lakarin.

Except yung Makkinit Hot Springs na 30 minutes pa ang layo mula sa sentro.

15 to 20 pesos ang pamasahe kapag ka within town proper.

And papunta naman sa Makkinit Hot Springs,

500 to 600 naman depende kung ilan kayo sa group.

Hindi yan per person ha, per tricycle na yan.

Pagpapuntang Makkinit, up to 3 passengers lang ang pwede per trike

kasi mahirap and bakubako ang daan.

Pwede rin naarkilihin sila ng half day for Coron town tour.

Nasa 800 to 900 pesos naman per trike ang rates nila.

Up to 3 passengers din.

May maie-encounter kayong mga drivers na mas mataas ang singel sa mga turista.

Pero ito yung contact numbers ng tricycle drivers na natry namin na hindi naman kami in-overcharge.

Pwede mo silang contactin kapag papuntang Makkinit Hot Springs or kapag Coron town tour.

Pwede rin kayong mag-rent ng motor.

Ito yung mga rates na nakita namin.

Pero siyempre ang pinakadinarayo dito sa Coron ay hindi yung town proper kundi ang mga kalapit na islands.

Makakatulong sa pagplan mo ng trip na maalaman na ang mga attraction sa Coron ay nakabundle by tour and by area.

Tignan ulit natin yung map kanina.

Ito ang Calamianes group of islands and andito ang Coron town.

Ito naman ang Coron island kung saan makikita ang pinakapopular destinations dito like Cayangan Lake, Barracuda Lake, and Twin Lagoon.

Ito naman ang Kalawit Safari Park, ang Black Island, North Quay, and South Quay na lahat ay part ng Busuanga Municipality.

Andito naman ang Culion, Malkapuya Island, Bulog Dos, and Banana Island.

Ilan lang yan sa mga attractions ha, marami pang iba.

Pero may i-explain lang ako saglit bago natin sila isa-isahin.

Naturally, yung mga magkakalapit na spots ang magkakasama sa tour.

For example, sa Coron Island Tour, ito yung mga pupuntahan.

For Kalawit Safari Tour naman, madalas naisasama rin ang Black Island at iba pang kalapit na mga pulo.

Ang Culion may sarili ring tour kasi maraming mahikita doon.

And mayroon ding mga beach escapade tour na tinatawag na ito naman ang mga included sa itinerary.

May mga changes here and there depende sa operator pero basta ganyan usually.

Most tours ay full day and by boat except sa Coron Town Tour na half-day lang and kayang gawin by tricycle.

So pwede mong iplano ang trip mo na may one tour per day ka nagagawin.

Pagdating sa Island Hopping, may dalawa kang options.

Join a group tour or charter a private boat.
