Are you planning a trip to Cyprus soon? Will you be staying in Limassol?
00:04.0
If so, you might be wondering how to get there exactly.
00:08.0
Well, you are in luck because we have just visited Cyprus recently
00:12.0
and in this video, we'll share with you how to get to Limassol from Larnaca Airport.
00:23.0
Hello there, poor traveler! We are Vins and Yosh.
00:27.0
Hello there, poor traveler! We are Vins and Yosh.
00:29.0
Before we begin, don't forget to like this page if you're on FB

or subscribe to this channel if you're on YouTube

00:39.0
This early, I'd like to apologize in advance if I mispronounce any of the Greek words,
00:44.0
but do correct me in the comments so I get to learn too.
00:48.0
Okay, just to make sure we're on the same page,
00:50.0
here are some facts you need to know about the Republic of Cyprus before your trip.
00:55.0
Cyprus uses Euro. It is the de facto or official currency,
00:59.0
so the figures that we'll be sharing in this video are all in Euro.
01:04.0
The official language is Greek.
01:06.0
For English speakers, there may be a bit of a language barrier,
01:09.0
but most locals can speak and understand English.
01:13.0
Limassol is located along the southern coast of the island.
01:16.0
It is the second largest urban area, next only to the Republic's capital, Nicosia.
01:22.0
The biggest gateway to Cyprus is Larnaca Airport,
01:25.0
located in the city of Larnaca, also along the southern coast.
01:29.0
From here, Limassol is roughly an hour away in the southwest direction.
01:34.0
You have two options to get there.
01:36.0
By public bus and by direct airport shuttle or airport bus.
01:41.0
The public bus is cheaper but it takes longer because it involves a transfer,
01:45.0
which I will be explaining later.
01:48.0
Upon landing at Larnaca Airport,
01:50.0
you'll need to go through the usual arrival formalities like immigration and customs inspection.
01:55.0
After picking up your luggage, you'll be exiting into the arrival hall.
01:59.0
From here, you have two options.
02:01.0
Option A, by direct bus.
02:08.0
If you wish to take the direct bus, turn left.
02:11.0
At the far end, just before the exit, you'll find this ticket counter.
02:15.0
There's only one bus that goes directly from the airport to Limassol
02:19.0
and it's operated by Limassol Airport Express.
02:22.0
And this is its counter.
02:24.0
This bus is the fastest, easiest, and most convenient way to reach Limassol.
02:30.0
Travel time is only 50 minutes without any transfer
02:33.0
and making only one other stop before it terminates.
02:36.0
The first stop is the so-called tourist area near the St. Raphael Resort,
02:41.0
Grand Resort, and Kanika Elias Beach.
02:45.0
The second and final stop is at the Limassol Airport Express Station in the city center
02:50.0
at the Ayos Iorios Havuzas Station just beside the church.
02:54.0
Fare is €10 for adults and €5 for children 3 to 12 years old.
02:59.0
It runs from 5am to 11.15pm, making a total of 13 trips at varying intervals.
03:06.0
As of our last visit in 2023, here's the schedule.
03:15.0
This was the route we took as we had heavy luggage in tow.
03:19.0
We didn't want to make a transfer in the middle of the city while carrying heavy bags.
03:23.0
From the Ayos Iorios Havuzas Station, you may hail a cab on-site
03:27.0
or you may use a ride-hailing app like Bolt or CabSee.
03:31.0
We used Bolt and a driver was assigned to us right away.
03:34.0
There is also an intercity bus that passes by, but we failed to get more info about it.
03:39.0
If your hotel is located at the Molos area near Pier Beach,
03:43.0
expect to pay around €12 when using Bolt.
03:47.0
If you get hungry, there is a cafe called Bean Around
03:50.0
and a really good burger joint called Fidos just beside the station.
03:54.0
You can also find vending machines selling drinks and snacks around the area.
03:58.0
By the way, it is not possible to reserve a seat in advance
04:01.0
so you can just buy your ticket upon arrival at the airport.
04:08.0
Option B by Public Bus
04:10.0
If you wish to take the public bus,
04:12.0
turn right and you'll find the exit that will lead you to city buses.
04:16.0
We haven't tried this, but we were able to gather some practical info about it.
04:20.0
You see, just before the exit, you'll see this desk,
04:24.0
which is all about public transportation in Larnaca.
04:27.0
The lady at the counter explained to us how to get to Limasol by public bus.
04:31.0
According to her, from Larnaca Airport, take bus 425 bound for Dekelia Power Station.
04:37.0
A bus leaves the airport every 20 minutes from 6.30am until 11.50pm.
04:43.0
Fare is €1.50 during the day and €2.50 at night.
04:49.0
Get off at the old hospital which is the 6th stop from the airport.
04:53.0
And then, transfer to the intercity bus to Limasol.
04:57.0
Bus fare is €4 and travel time is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
05:03.0
These are the stops.
05:08.0
Before your trip, find out which stop is closest to your hotel or destination
05:13.0
so you know where to alight.
05:15.0
You may hail a cab on site or use an app like Bolt or CabSee.
05:25.0
To get to Larnaca Airport from Limasol,
05:28.0
we also opted to take the Airport Express and simply traced our steps back.
05:33.0
The problem is, our flight out was scheduled at 5am the next day
05:37.0
and the first airport bus of the day leaves Limasol at 4am
05:41.0
and will arrive at the airport just before 5.
05:43.0
So it's not enough time.
05:46.0
On the other hand, the first public intercity bus of the day is scheduled at 5.50am.
05:52.0
Either way, we won't be able to catch our 5am flight.
05:57.0
Instead, we decided to just catch the last bus the night before
06:00.0
and just stay at the airport overnight since check-in was at 2am.
06:04.0
Initially, we were worried we might not be able to get a ticket.
06:08.0
So what we did was call first to reserve,
06:11.0
but we were told to just show up and buy tickets on site.
06:14.0
They really don't accept advanced reservations.
06:18.0
We made our way to the Ayos Yorios Havusa Station by cab at 8.30pm
06:23.0
to catch the last bus scheduled at 9.30pm.
06:26.0
We purchased our ticket, again, at €10 apiece.
06:30.0
We didn't have dinner yet, but thankfully, the Fidos food truck was still open
06:34.0
so we were able to get our burger fix.
06:36.0
It was delicious.
06:38.0
The bus left at exactly 9.30pm.
06:41.0
It was just us and one other passenger.
06:43.0
We arrived 15 minutes later and waited for the check-in counters to open.
06:50.0
