This video presentation highlights few of the mysteries surrounding San Juan De Dios Church, otherwise known as San Rafael Church which stood as a silent witness to the gruesome massacre of some 800 Bulaceños in 1896. It is also believed that some actual events that occurred in the church served as the inspiration of our National Hero, Jose Rizal, for his book Noli Me Tangere. In fact, one room serves as the museum to house an artifact preserved since the 1800s. That artifact is a bloodstain in the shape of a hand imprinted on the wall believed to belong to the real “Crispin”. Some people believe the restless souls belong to those of “Crispin” and “Basilio”, innocent civilians and members of slaughtered Katipuneros. There are reported sightings of ghost children playing, a kneeling nun, and other entities who wander the grounds of the church and the adjacent convent.
