00:00.0
I don't know what they are.
00:30.0
Okay guys, kamusta kayo dyan?
00:39.2
Sorry, may announcement dito.
00:41.4
00:45.2
So nasa connecting flight tayo.
00:46.7
00:51.2
dahil may iba-iba na yung mga time zones natin.
00:54.3
Gusto ko lang pag-usapan guys very quickly itong hearings
00:58.6
na nagitan natin.
01:00.0
Doon sa Senado is hearings being led by Senator Rizzo Ontiveros
01:05.3
01:14.1
na of course kilala natin lahat.
01:15.5
01:19.8
ay dahil ito ay isang, pinag-usapan natin,
01:22.5
isang religious leader.
01:25.2
Some would use other terms.
01:27.4
I'm just trying to be as neutral as possible.
01:30.0
Na malapit sa dating Presidente Rodrigo Duterte.
01:33.0
Of course itong tao ay is affiliated din sa isa sa pinakamalaking
01:38.0
information systems, SMNI in this matter,
01:43.0
na affiliated with the whole Dutertismo, DDS ideology.
01:48.0
So mahalaga ito. Malaking implications na ito.
01:54.0
And of course we're watching very carefully
01:56.0
anong nangyayari in terms of yung supina ng Senado.
02:00.0
Anong nangyayari in terms of yung response to Quiboloy.
02:02.0
Is Quiboloy even in the country?
02:04.0
Is Quiboloy gonna show up anytime soon?
02:06.0
In terms of whether the DDS or the pro-Duterte folks
02:10.0
are gonna support him, among others.
02:12.0
Sorry guys. Grabe yung i-bugs ka.
02:14.0
Makikita nyo talaga, grabe talaga yung mga schedule natin ngayon.
02:18.0
Mag-shades na lang ako.
02:20.0
Ayan. Mag-shades lang tayo.
02:23.0
Para hindi makita yung mga i-bugs natin.
02:25.0
But, but, guys, seriously.
02:27.0
Ako, isa sa mga tinituloy.
02:30.0
02:33.0
Obviously, of course, pinapakinggan natin
02:35.0
yung mga testimonies, yung mga testigo.
02:38.0
Pinapakinggan natin yung pag-explain nila,
02:42.0
yung cadence, yung paano nila in-explain,
02:46.0
yung emotional state of mind.
02:48.0
Kasi kung nagsisin yung aling isang tao
02:50.0
or nag-invento lang, or may script lang,
02:52.0
or paninira lang, or black propaganda lang,
02:55.0
malalaman mo yan eh.
02:56.0
There are gonna be gaps, you know, in terms of the testimonies,
03:00.0
there's gonna be some exaggerated emotions,
03:03.0
there's gonna be some exaggerated, you know,
03:06.0
or words used, or sometimes there's gonna be pauses,
03:11.0
and contradictions.
03:13.0
Even if minsan binabasa yung testimony,
03:16.0
malalaman mo talaga kung nagsisimula yung isang tao
03:19.0
or paninira lang ito.
03:20.0
Alam na alam natin na dahil napaka dumi yung politika natin,
03:22.0
03:28.0
you know, circus.
03:29.0
03:32.0
Kunyari, may mga circus tayo.
03:34.0
Kunyari, parang may embarrass isang grupo.
03:37.0
Kung maalala niyo, one reason why very,
03:40.0
generally, dapat very cautious tayo
03:43.0
at nagsuscrutinize tayo sa mga hearings and all,
03:46.0
or mga accusations is because not long ago,
03:48.0
03:51.0
Thankfully, things are not as bad as before.
03:53.0
But the reality is that nagpa-pile up na itong mga testigo na yan.
03:58.0
Itong mga testimonies na yan.
04:00.0
And we're talking about not only an FBI wanted list kind of situation.
04:05.0
We're talking about many cases of abuses of people of different gender background.
04:10.0
Not necessarily the, you know, the person of interest.
04:15.0
Pinag-usapan natin.
04:16.0
Pero yung mga tauhan niya.
04:18.0
Yung mga tao sa organizations.
04:19.0
I think very illuminating pag tinignan natin, guys, yung conversations about
04:27.0
yung recruitment process.
04:29.0
Ano yung panghatak nila ng mga tao.
04:32.0
Which is quite interesting, diba?
04:33.0
04:46.0
And then now we're hearing these allegations that there's a certain kind of recruitment process happening here.
04:51.0
That there's a hooking in process.
04:54.0
That mamaya pag nandun ka na.
04:56.0
Kung ano yung mga...
04:58.0
I mean, my goodness.
05:00.0
I mean, diba?
05:02.0
It's blasphemous to even claim that you are a person with...
05:08.0
I mean, I cannot even say it, guys.
05:10.0
How crazy some of these things sound.
05:12.0
Like in claims to divinity by certain individuals out there.
05:16.0
Which in my opinion is blasphemous.
05:18.0
Right?
05:19.0
Last time I checked, diba?
05:20.0
In Christianity, si Jesus Christ na yung ganyang position.
05:23.0
Tapos...
05:24.0
But...
05:25.0
So clearly there is that kind of internal conversations and all.
05:29.0
And then kung pinakinggan niyo yung testigo, you're talking about a lot of kind of exploitative practices.
05:35.0
Allegations of exploitative practices on so many levels.
05:38.0
So please pakinggan niyo na mabuti.
05:40.0
05:45.0
kinot ko na siya kasi I think it's just too explicit.
05:48.0
You're free to check dun sa Senate itself.
05:51.0
Dun sa website ng Senate.
05:53.0
Dun sa Facebook ng Senate.
05:55.0
You're free to check, of course, mga portals and platforms of Senator Riza Ontiveros.
06:00.0
To know more about dito sa...
06:02.0
To know more about dito sa details.
06:04.0
Because some of the details are just too graphic, guys.
06:07.0
And nakaka...
06:09.0
Of course, alam niyo naman, I try to keep things as wholesome as possible.
06:14.0
As much as we want to discuss crazy situations in our country.
06:17.0
But details matter.
06:18.0
And when people explain details,
06:21.0
and there's no breaking their voice,
06:23.0
there's no, you know, exaggerated words, exaggerated emotions,
06:29.0
medyo, diba, malaman mo kung totoong sinasabi niya or nag-invento lang, diba.
06:36.0
And we're looking at preponderance of testimonies.
06:38.0
Not just one testimony, not just two testimonies.
06:41.0
We're looking at testimonies from different individuals, from different gender,
06:45.0
socio-economic background, of different ethno-linguistic background.
06:50.0
So yung idea na in-invento lang lahat mga yan, I don't know.
06:53.0
I mean, I'm just saying, I'm encouraging you guys to watch it because this is something very important.
06:59.0
Because as I said, you're talking about a person of interest who's very close to the ex-president.
07:04.0
Katulad nung nakita niyo dun sa RRM episode natin with Mark Gambo and Ronaldo Llamas.
07:11.0
Wala, wala.
07:16.0
I mean, nandyan pa sa bansa natin.
07:18.0
Itong person of interest na ito or napunta na sa China or kung sakali nasa China.
07:25.0
Kasi yun nga eh, kung nasa FBI wanted list ka, malabang pupunta ka sa US or Western countries
07:31.0
or yung mga countries kung saan very strong yung presence ng United States
07:34.0
or yung law enforcement agencies ng United States.
07:37.0
07:43.0
Now, obviously yung China is very important because, again, may kinalaman na ito sa dating presidente,
07:47.0
07:54.0
And then now to mention, there were also discussions about collaboration between SM&I and China's media
08:02.0
Pwede natin ilagay natin dyan yung mga links and all of that.
08:07.0
So as I said, baka pwede yung isang excuse na andun ka sa China for business and all of that.
08:11.0
Pero if we're talking about subpoena right now, and the subpoena has been in the making for quite some time,
08:16.0
very essential talaga ka na malaman bakit wala sa bansa, if ever wala sa bansa.
08:21.0
And if ever magpakita, then ibang usapan na yan.
08:24.0
Now, in the meantime, in the meantime, while I suggest you guys, I encourage you guys to keep in touch dun sa details,
08:32.0
to make assessments on your own, I mean, the thing is kasi nanganak din ng ibang exposes yan
08:40.0
because napakalapit na itong person of interest na ito sa isa sa mga dynasties sa Pilipinas.
08:46.0
08:49.0
Ngayon lumalabas na yung mga exposes, mga ibang allegations about yung nature of relationship niya sa mga Dutertes.
08:56.0
Of course, if they're accusations of criminal activities
09:02.0
per the FBI kind of claims among others, then let's see, let's see.
09:06.0
It's also interesting to see yung level of cooperation na mangyayari sa pagitan ng Pilipinas, Philippine authorities, and American authorities.
09:14.0
Because, guys, kung maalala ninyo meron tayong mga extradition treaties.
09:18.0
09:31.0
then pwede mo i-extradite isang taong yan.
09:33.0
09:42.0
So let's also look at that.
09:43.0
So it's interesting.
09:44.0
09:49.0
And in terms of enforcement capability, incomparable yan.
09:53.0
Because ICC is just an international organization based in the Hague.
09:58.0
So its power is far more symbolic compared to FBI which has significant degree of enforcement capacity
10:05.0
and is attached to a superpower for that matter.
10:09.0
Now for me, it's interesting also kung gagawa na naman drama yung iba dyan na,
10:13.0
Uy, ito ay US, West oppressing us, etc.
10:16.0
But I don't know.
10:18.0
At kaya nga, I also encourage guys to check yung mga DDS kaibigan natin dyan,
10:25.0
kung ano yung mga stance sila dito.
10:27.0
Because at least a claim of some of the people are following the bloggers like si Morgan Camboa is that,
10:32.0
10:38.0
Now I have to assess that on my own para lang maka-verify natin.
10:41.0
But I monitor of course yung mga, hindi lang mga Buljak TV type.
10:45.0
I'm monitoring also other major influencers of the Duterte side to gauge anong discarded nila dito,
10:54.0
anong gusto nila mangyari.
10:55.0
Now kanina napansin ko nung pinost natin yung mga videos without just sharing them,
11:01.0
11:06.0
At titignan mo zero followers, one followers, obvious na fake.
11:09.0
So it's not like that.
11:10.0
So it's not like there's no effort to push back against itong lumalabas na expose and allegations na yan.
11:17.0
But it's interesting to see how concerted the effort will be to defend this person of interest.
11:24.0
And then it's also interesting to know whether there'll be updates and information dun sa kanyang location,
11:29.0
kung saan siya, nasa China ba siya, what's going on, kung babalik siya.
11:33.0
But the other thing I want to talk about also is Riza Ontiveros.
11:38.0
Kung pansin niyo, one of the things that I found very interesting or rather very disappointing or rather very shocking
11:44.0
is that parang mag-isa lang si Riza Ontiveros dyan.
11:46.0
Napansin niyo guys, parang wala na ibang Senators.
11:50.0
Saan ba si Mr. Robin Hood Padilla, alright?
11:54.0
12:07.0
Nasaan po yung mga ibang, well if we're talking about expectation of women, allegations of sexual abuse among others,
12:16.0
nasaan po yung ibang babaeng Senadora?
12:18.0
12:25.0
people who fight against violence against women and children, people who claim to be guardians or bastions of women empowerment.
12:34.0
Nasaan mga yan?
12:35.0
Alam nyo na.
12:36.0
Kailangan ba natin pangalanan?
12:38.0
Sino itong mga Senadora na yan?
12:40.0
So, it's interesting to see that so far we're not...
12:45.0
Again, I just found that very strange na Riza is parang mag-isa lang niya dito sa isang side with her staff and all.
12:54.0
And sa kabila na lahat ng mga witnesses among others.
12:57.0
So nasaan yung ibang mga Senators and all of that?
13:00.0
And speaking of subpoena, bakit ngayon lang lumalabas ito?
13:03.0
Diba?
13:04.0
Itong supposed investigations na yan?
13:07.0
So, for me, I'm totally not surprised to see Riza taking up the cudgels literally alone again.
13:16.0
Because kung makalala natin, nung panon ni...
13:20.0
Aguira ba yung pangalanan?
13:22.0
Nung yung dati natin Justice Secretary, Justice Secretary.
13:26.0
13:28.0
Diba?
13:29.0
Who was the Senator?
13:31.0
Who took the risk?
13:32.0
No?
13:33.0
To bring in witnesses.
13:36.0
To prove beyond reasonable doubt.
13:39.0
Of course, it is outside court.
13:41.0
But nonetheless, we're talking about Senate.
13:43.0
The highest legislative body in the country.
13:46.0
Talagang lumabas si Riza Ontiveros risk it all.
13:50.0
She exposed herself to risk.
13:52.0
She was legally threatened and harassed by yung...
13:56.0
14:02.0
Na Secretaries.
14:04.0
Ang pangalan nun?
14:06.0
Anyway.
14:07.0
Diba na-threaten ba si Riza with kidnapping or something like that?
14:12.0
Like ridiculous kind of...
14:15.0
Ridiculous kind of stuff.
14:16.0
Kasi binooking talaga ni Riza yung nangyaring kalokohan nun.
14:20.0
14:24.0
Yan ang sinasabi ko eh.
14:25.0
Lahat naman tayo, galit tayo sa droga.
14:27.0
Galit tayo sa krimen.
14:28.0
Ang ayaw natin mangyari is that
14:30.0
yung mga tao na binibigyan natin na obligasyon to deal with the crime.
14:36.0
14:38.0
At unfortunate yun po yung nangyari.
14:40.0
Diba?
14:41.0
Unfortunate yung nangyari.
14:42.0
Nakakita natin kinotakota system lang nila.
14:44.0
Hindi ito base sa roof law.
14:46.0
Hindi ito base sa due process.
14:48.0
Hindi ito base sa high level intelligence.
14:50.0
Hindi ito base sa isang coherent national plan to get rid of drugs.
14:55.0
So...
14:57.0
We saw it more than five years ago.
14:59.0
Si Sen. Riza Ontiveros took up the caudials single-handedly.
15:04.0
She went there and she tried to get witnesses and tried to make sure that there will be truth
15:09.0
when it comes dun sa case ni Keandela Santos.
15:12.0
Kasi kung hindi lumabas Riza right away,
15:14.0
at she didn't make the risk,
15:17.0
she didn't make the sacrifices that she made,
15:19.0
at the height of the popularity,
15:21.0
the time na sobrang silent na halos lahat ng mga senador,
15:25.0
yung mga ibang Richard Gordon type,
15:27.0
yung mga ganun na, diba?
15:28.0
Si Laila de Lima, wala na.
15:30.0
Nakulong na, diba?
15:32.0
On dubious charges, which of course we have proven talagang dubious sila over time.
15:36.0
15:40.0
Going back to this, Riza took a lot of risk during that time.
15:43.0
Tremendous amount of risk during that time.
15:45.0
And that's why nabuking talaga na may kalakuan ang nangyari.
15:49.0
And in fact, the case of Keandela Santos did not only create a lot of public backlash
15:54.0
and uproar in the ways that we didn't have before,
15:57.0
but it also led, most importantly, it led to justice.
16:03.0
Because yung mga na-involved doon sa Keandela Santos case,
16:06.0
of course, it was also caught in CCTV, which also helped, right?
16:09.0
But, you know, bringing witnesses, creating public scrutiny, etc.
16:13.0
All of those things came together.
16:15.0
So, in fact, of the thousands, if not tens of thousands of alleged extrajudicial killings,
16:21.0
one of the reasons why, at least in the case of Keandela Santos,
16:24.0
we saw some element of justice is precisely because,
16:27.0
of commitment of brave leaders like Riza Ontiveros to be there.
16:32.0
At yun yung parati kong sinasabi, guys.
16:34.0
Yun yung parati kong sinasabi, guys.
16:37.0
You will know if someone is a true leader when they're almost the last man,
16:42.0
in this case, last woman standing.
16:44.0
Madaling magpapogi during election time.
16:47.0
Because during election time, the climate of fear goes away,
16:50.0
it's climate of enthusiasm and energy.
16:53.0
16:56.0
That's always a good excuse not to do the right fight.
16:59.0
17:04.0
But, guys, eto talaga.
17:06.0
Nakikita natin consistently, year after year after year,
17:09.0
it was Riza Ontiveros against all odds, with all risks there.
17:15.0
She was the one who consistently made sure that there will be a proper scrutiny
17:19.0
and that she'll go against very powerful people, guys.
17:22.0
So, yun ang sinasabi ko sa inyo.
17:25.0
And this goes back doon ulit, doon sa conversation natin with Sen. Trillianes.
17:29.0
Remember, sabi ni Sen. Trillianes, di ba?
17:32.0
17:35.0
Re-repost ko rin.
17:37.0
Oh, by the way, guys, please also subscribe kayo sa sub-stack natin.
17:41.0
May free subscription, but I hope you'll also support it in other ways kahit papano naman.
17:46.0
Para naman maingganyo tayo kasi time and effort din yan.
17:50.0
But I'll try to repost also some of my articles and columns there.
17:52.0
17:55.0
So, yung latest column natin sa Philippine Daily Inquirer
17:58.0
is about Ninoy Navalny and True Opposition Leadership.
18:01.0
18:05.0
yung opening quote is from Sen. Trillianes.
18:07.0
Tingnan yung sinabi ni Sen. Trillianes.
18:08.0
Of course, hindi siya nagpangalan ng tao.
18:10.0
18:16.0
as if tapos lang lahat ng problema or parang the world stopped.
18:20.0
Literally yun yung sinasabi ni Sen. Trillianes.
18:22.0
At sabi niya, the reason why, ini-endorse na si Sen. Trillianes,
18:24.0
itong tao na to ay never nag-give up.
18:27.0
18:30.0
Consistently, before elections, during elections, after elections,
18:34.0
prepared, organized, palaban.
18:36.0
That's the kind of leadership that you're looking at here.
18:40.0
So, I suggest you guys to go back to that.
18:44.0
Because if there's one other senator who has, you know,
18:51.0
an unimpeachable power,
18:54.0
record when it comes to audacity,
18:58.0
I hope you see, you know, I may have some disagreements with Trillianes on certain issues.
19:02.0
You know, I'm not sure if coup d'etat is the response to problems with democratic deficit,
19:07.0
but I'm sure he had his own reasons.
19:09.0
But in fairness to Sen. Trillianes, one thing I respect about that, guys,
19:12.0
he also took tremendous amount of risk ng panahon ni Digong.
19:15.0
Grabe yung mga risk sa kanya.
19:17.0
At I know, parang nasa ano siya eh, parang top two na pinaka-hate ni Digong eh.
19:22.0
In fact, arguably.
19:23.0
In fact, arguably, number one siya at some point, diba?
19:26.0
So siya, Leila Dalima, and to a lesser degree, si Maria Iglesias.
19:31.0
I know, outside, around the world, akala nila ang kalaban lang ni Digong yung Rappler.
19:36.0
19:43.0
Yung kay Leila Dalima talaga, yun nga, she paid a heavy price for that.
19:47.0
In the case of Trillianes, of course, I think yung connection niya sa military,
19:51.0
among others, really helped him.
19:53.0
But nevertheless, the guy risked a lot.
19:55.0
So in terms of audacity, cojones, I have no doubts with Trillianes.
20:00.0
So when Trillianes tells you that ito yung level of respect niya kay Riza,
20:04.0
because never bumitaw, palaban, minsan kahit mag-isa lang niya, go lang siya ng go,
20:10.0
that just tells you the caliber of leadership that Riza Ontiveres brings to the picture.
20:14.0
Kaya nga, I always say, and I think I'm not alone anymore that many people are raising this question,
20:18.0
like, for some reason, I still see a lot of people, a lot of people from the pink movement,
20:22.0
they're still hoping that there'll be a redo of 2022, right?
20:27.0
I'm not still seeing the rallying effect around Riza Ontiveres.
20:31.0
But my genuine hope is that as Riza Ontiveres continues to be the lone voice of conscience,
20:39.0
the lone voice of independence, the lone voice of brave leadership,
20:45.0
people come to realize, you know, what kind of a special senator or legislator she is.
20:52.0
Again, I also have disagreements, perhaps, on some issues with her,
20:55.0
but in fairness, I think it's hard to disagree with her on almost anything nowadays
21:01.0
because even on the West Philippines issue, where you expect progressives to generally be
21:08.0
overcritical of US in proportion to being soft, kasi yun ang naging problema sa marami sa leftist eh,
21:16.0
or pseudo-leftist, galit na galit sila sa US, and then pagdating sa China, or worse, Russia,
21:22.0
my goodness, or Putin, ang dami nila mga excuses.
21:25.0
21:37.0
Usually, I tend to hear yung mga nonsense na gano'n doon sa mga pa-left, pa-left dyan.
21:42.0
But with Riza Ontiveres, sobrang tapang niya doon sa issue ng West Philippine Sea.
21:46.0
So, she has really transcended yung mga narrow ideological divides and polarizations and all,
21:52.0
and she tells you about, matalino tong tao to, tao na to, nag-iisip tong tao na to.
21:57.0
Hindi lang siya, you know, hindi lang siya, you know, confined doon sa mga ideological straitjackets.
22:03.0
Iniisip niya talaga yung national interest natin.
22:06.0
She did very well in the elections, and in fact, one of the reasons I think Riza did very well during the last elections,
22:10.0
from what I understand, is she had a very strong regional campaign strategy in vernacular.
22:18.0
So, in different regions of Visayas and Mindanao, she had commercials, advertisements,
22:22.0
and engagement strategies in the vernacular.
22:24.0
I don't know about the Ilohos region or our region.
22:26.0
That's why, perhaps, against all odds, she was, you know, the only opposition leader
22:31.0
who really made it to the national office in 2022.
22:35.0
And technically speaking, Lenny already passed down the baton.
22:39.0
But the thing is, I think that was not enough. That was never enough.
22:42.0
One symbolic act of passing down the baton was not enough.
22:45.0
And if you look at the sentiments online, if you look at the surveys among others,
22:51.0
it looks like marami sa ating mga kaupayan, nandun pa rin sila kay Lenny eh.
22:54.0
I have nothing against that. I think Lenny has shown tremendous amount of leadership in many times.
23:00.0
I think she's a very inspirational leader.
23:02.0
I have friends in Singapore and around the world na love na love nila si Lenny.
23:05.0
Lenny exudes a lot of optimism and positivity and inspirational leadership that I completely understand.
23:15.0
Tuwan-tuwang tao sa kanya.
23:17.0
Having said that, you know, you can only have one figurehead, right?
23:21.0
You can only have one ultimate opposition leader.
23:24.0
So I think there has to be some clarity around that.
23:26.0
And the reality is that, I mean, it could be a co-leadership like Riza and Lenny or something like that.
23:31.0
But even that is not clear to me eh.
23:33.0
23:37.0
Now, the thing with Riza is that she doesn't grandstand.
23:39.0
That's an interesting thing.
23:41.0
Lumalabas na grand yung kanyang interventions because sobrang tama yung ginagawa niya. Sobrang matapang siya.
23:46.0
But never siya nag-grandstand. Never siya nagpa-cute.
23:48.0
Never siya nag-rely sa mga PR people.
23:51.0
Mga pa-cute na TikTok or whatever.
23:54.0
That's interesting because she's a journalist, right?
23:56.0
She's an award-winning journalist.
23:58.0
She's a very good journalist just like, you know, yung isang sister niya si Pia.
24:02.0
And yet if you look at it, she's really convictions and principle-based in her approach.
24:07.0
And I call her the Iron Lady of the progressive movement in the Philippines.
24:11.0
Which brings me back to my biggest suspicion.
24:13.0
I think a big part why that commensurate rallying effect around Riza is not happening
24:20.0
is because ito nga, kasi sa Pilipinas talagang, right-wing talagang Pilipinas.
24:25.0
Katulad ng Amerika, I think Filipinos are generally more center-right than center-left, right?
24:31.0
Which tells you how amazing it has been that Riza has made it this far.
24:36.0
But I think it also tells you a little bit about the challenge of creating more rallying effect around her.
24:41.0
Kasi si Leni very center eh, to be honest.
24:43.0
I mean, if you look at some of her positionings on abortion, on divorce, actually center-right.
24:50.0
Quite conservative.
24:51.0
24:55.0
If you wanna really be strict about it.
24:57.0
But Riza has been consistently center-center-left, right?
25:00.0
Not far-left, clearly.
25:03.0
But I think in the Philippines, we still have to properly distinguish between different progressive groups.
25:09.0
Between far-left and center-left.
25:12.0
And we have to also understand that many of the most progressive countries in the world today,
25:16.0
where it's Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany,
25:20.0
a lot of these countries, a big part of their success was because of decades of leadership under center-left governments.
25:27.0
Social democratic governments.
25:29.0
SPD in Germany, for instance.
25:31.0
Labor in Norway or Social Democrats in Sweden, for instance, right?
25:37.0
They played a very important role in the success of the most successful countries on earth today.
25:42.0
And their versions in places like South Korea and Taiwan.
25:45.0
If you look at the Democratic Progressive Party of Tsai Ing-wen,
25:48.0
Tignan, sobrang beshi si Tsai Ing-wen in Riza.
25:51.0
And I think they share a lot of socio-economic policies.
25:54.0
Not only their China stance, no?
25:56.0
Hindi lang dahil matapang silang pareho.
25:59.0
So if you look at Taiwan, the DPP.
26:01.0
If you look at the former president of South Korea and the main opposition party in South Korea.
26:09.0
If you look at Scandinavian countries, a lot of the most progressive countries in the world, center-lefting governments nila.
26:16.0
Diba?
26:17.0
26:22.0
But at the same, left enough to push for structural transformation, strong healthcare systems,
26:27.0
strong education systems, strong industrial policy, optimal forms of state interventions.
26:37.0
And the other good thing I appreciate also with center-left is unlike yung mga far-left,
26:42.0
26:45.0
hindi sila pro-China or pro-Russia.
26:47.0
27:15.0
Georgia, Central Asia, and then of course Ukraine.
27:19.0
27:25.0
Never nang wala talaga yan eh.
27:27.0
27:36.0
Now, I completely agree na may mga ginawang mali talaga mga Western countries.
27:41.0
27:45.0
Giyera na ginawa nila sa Middle East.
27:47.0
Sinirasira nila yung gitnang silangan.
27:49.0
Hindi talaga ako agree dyan.
27:51.0
Marami akong disagreements sa mga Western countries.
27:53.0
28:09.0
Hindi po ang NATO.
28:10.0
Hindi po ang Europe.
28:12.0
Hindi po Japan. Diba?
28:14.0
Tapos na yung Second World War.
28:16.0
Tapos na po yung colonization of the Philippines in the 20th century.
28:19.0
Of course, we can talk about new colonialism.
28:22.0
Pero kung speaking of new colonialism,
28:24.0
pag-usapan natin yung China.
28:26.0
28:30.0
O sa Pilipinas.
28:32.0
Ayan tayo eh.
28:34.0
By the way, talk about China.
28:36.0
Hindi yung mga Chinese na kapatid natin.
28:38.0
Talk about yung government nila, yung regime nila.
28:40.0
But you get what I'm saying.
28:42.0
Going back to...
28:44.0
Imperialism has no color, has no race, has no ethnicity.
28:47.0
It's a political, geopolitical phenomenon.
28:50.0
I think there's nothing uniquely imperialistic about China or US, etc.
28:55.0
Pag lumaki talaga yung bansa na sobrang malaki at malakas,
28:58.0
29:02.0
Although I would say in some countries talagang malalim yung pagka-imperialist nila.
29:06.0
I would say Russia is a problematic case because sa napakalaki ng bansa nila, 11 time zones,
29:12.0
at sa napaka... eh pagod na ako.
29:17.0
Sa napaka-traumatic yung kanilang experience with Mongolian Golden Horde colonization back in the day in the medieval era,
29:26.0
ang Russia parating nagkikreate sila ng tsare.
29:29.0
Whether ito yung mga panahon nila Romanov's family, Ivan the Terrible, Stalin, all the way to Putin.
29:37.0
Lahat sila tsare.
29:38.0
Yung mindset nila imperialistik talaga eh.
29:41.0
29:45.0
they don't go and talk to ordinary people from Georgia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, yung mga ganyan.
29:53.0
29:59.0
But anyway, everything I'm saying here, guys, ayan naman yung trauma of century of humiliation.
30:05.0
30:07.0
Na-humiliate halos tayong lahat.
30:09.0
Pilipinas, ilang century tayong lahat.
30:11.0
Na-humiliate.
30:12.0
Ottoman, na-humiliate.
30:13.0
Japanese, na-humiliate sila.
30:15.0
Kaya nagbukas sila ng major restoration, etc.
30:20.0
Ang problema sa mga higanting bansa like Russian and Chinese, forever pa-victim sila.
30:24.0
30:30.0
Or Taiwan, or Ukraine, or whatever.
30:32.0
Kaya yun ang gusto kay Risa eh.
30:34.0
She doesn't fall for the trap which tells you about the sophistication of mindset and the genuine nature of her patriotism.
30:40.0
Anyways, guys, kailangan ko na umalis.
30:42.0
Tama natin gagawin. Medyo napagod na rin ako.
30:45.0
Tuloy-tuloy lang ito.
30:47.0
Grabe kasi mga transit hours and all natin.
30:51.0
Kaya kitang-kita sa mata natin.
30:53.0
Ganun ko kayo kamahal.
30:55.0
Speaking of which, please, guys, subscribe dun sa YouTube channel natin.
30:59.0
Libre lang yan. Actually, libre lang yan.

Pero may free subscription din.
31:11.0
Please, any kind of support, we appreciate it.
31:13.0
It's just a show of love.
31:15.0
And a while ago, nasa flight pa tayo.
31:17.0
I was thinking about, dun sa connective flight pa.
31:20.0
I was thinking about doing audio version sa mga columns natin.
31:26.0
Pasahin natin.
31:27.0
So, parang audio essays.
31:28.0
Right? Audio essays.
31:30.0
So, your support, including subscription and giving us stars and support.
31:36.0
Hindi yung star na bayad lang.
31:37.0
I mean, like just rating us.
31:38.0
I really, really appreciate it.
31:40.0
So, please, guys, go to Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Softstack, Richard Hidara Podcast.
31:45.0

31:46.0
We really appreciate it.
31:47.0
And dito naman sa YouTube, of course, we want to go 100k, God willing, sooner than later.
31:52.0
Para naman makuha natin yung verification and everything that comes with that.
31:55.0
So, I really appreciate sa lahat naman sa mga support at nagmamahal sa atin.
31:58.0
And sana tuloy-tuloy itong conversation na ito.
32:01.0
At mabuhay po ang Pilipinas.
32:03.0
At mabuhay sa inyong lahat.
32:04.0
32:12.0
Although tama naman ako sa maraming bagay.
32:14.0
Iyan na naman tayo.
32:15.0
But naiintindihan ko.
32:16.0
I mean, people are emotionally not comfortable with contrarian views.
32:19.0
Especially if they know those views are factual.
32:22.0
Ibang usapan yan.
32:23.0
But I appreciate it.
32:24.0
I appreciate guys reaching out to us.
32:25.0
And I was looking at the analytics the other day.
32:27.0
Curious lang ako.
32:29.0
32:34.0
Including from Davao City.
32:35.0
Ano pa lang galing sa Davao City.
32:36.0
Nanonood sa atin.
32:38.0
I don't want to make pre-judgements about it.
32:40.0
But of course you would think that on average,
32:42.0
people from Davao are perhaps more receptive to a kind of a Duterte way of thinking than us.
32:48.0
But again, I could be completely wrong.
32:49.0
Because I also have a lot of friends in Davao.
32:51.0
Athenians in Davao are very progressive, liberal, etc.
32:53.0
In a good way.
32:54.0
In the best way possible.
32:55.0
But you know, I think the fact that we have many people also listening to us from Davao,
32:59.0
among others.
33:00.0
And back in the day also, you know,
33:02.0
I think until now, marami din nang kinig sa atin from solid north.
33:05.0
Then that means, you know, marami naman bukas sa alternative points of view.
33:09.0
33:13.0
On that note, God bless and talk to you soon.
