Ang frustration ko kasi before is, parang walang nasusunod sa timeline ko, yung goal setting ko talaga.

I was once working on my dream network.

And sobrang sabi ko, ah okay, I'm here na, so gagalingan ko na.

Pero nung nandun na ako, nagka-pandemic.

Baka mamaya biglang kailanganin namin ng parents ko ng money,

or hindi naman pwede na every time magdadepend lang ako sa dad ko or sa sisters ko.

Let's face it, nung nangyari yung COVID, all of us are really unprepared.

Hindi natin alam kung magkakatrabaho pa tayo, kinabukasan eh.

And that, well, that happened to me.

Everything runs with pera.

Pag wala ka talagang hirap mag-function.

Iba-iba kasing surviving.

Am I scared kasi dumapagbayad ng rent?

And then I realized, why don't we apply it to ourselves?

Bakit hindi tayo mag-planning also, di ba?

From then on, I started doing that na year on year.

What are my goals this year? Na-achieve ko ba siya?

Kung nagkukulang, okay, dapat may emergency fund tayo, ganyan.

O eto, travel fund.

O eto yung pang-eat out.

O eto, pang-wants natin yan.

Kahit na, you cannot plan naman talaga.

Like, pandemic.

Have you ever experienced an unexpected life event that you weren't prepared for?

I think when 2016, our mom was diagnosed with cancer.

our family was not prepared for.

Mabuti din sa point na naubos yung savings.

Kasi I have to send this and this.

Sobrang nakaka-trigger kasi ng anxiety kapag naubos, pag nawawala.

From that experience, ano yung mga realization na you got when it comes to preparedness?

Mayroong sinabi sa akin yung English teacher ko, back in second year high school pa,

na life would always be a matter of preparation.

Pinanghawakan ko yun.

Kung asan ka mamatay.

I think for the case of my mom, it would have helped if she had a critical illness benefit insurance.

We didn't have that.

Importante din talaga na meron kang mga insurances that you know you will be able to use.

Or just so that you have a peace of mind.

Halimbawa, mauna ako sa parents ko, ganyan.

Or sa mga sisters ko.

Parang ayoko na ibigay sa kanila.

Pati ba naman yung kukuhaan nila ng money, iintindihin pa nila.

In your opinion, what is the most crucial aspect for individuals your age to possess as they begin earning money?

Hmm, I think self-control is really one of the keys to be efficient in life.

And effective when it comes to money.

Lalo ngayon, open na yung mga tao sa pag-heal ng inner child.

So, pag nakahanap na tayo ng money to heal that inner child, dun talaga parang papasok na na ma-maximize na natin lahat ng finances natin.

Huwag tayong maging one-day millionaire kasi mas maganda if as early as the first year that you have your job,

you already know where you want to take your finances.

In the age of social media, a lot of people right now are quite pressured.

When you start earning money, also invest in yourself.

Inaaral siya, hindi siya ina-snap.

For me, every time I make a decision, ang unang tinatanong ko sa sarili ko is, will this lead me to my goal?

I don't believe in failure. Kasi once na I try something, I know that I learned something.

Pero at the same time, huwag mo rin namang sobrang tipirin yung sarili mo.

You have to find that sweet spot and balance na you enjoy, but not too much, and you save for the future.

At the end of the day, it's really just gonna be you. It has to be you.

It's okay to ask help sometimes, but it's better na you're prepared, you have plans, you have goals.

At some point na kapag save ka na lang ang resources mo.

Kasi at the end of the day, hindi naman lahat available for you eh, whenever you need anything.

It might seem and sound scary, pero posible siya.

Kasi ako na yung living testament nun.

Hindi naman din na-de-define on financial situation yung success eh.

Para ang pinaka-importante rin about life is, alam mo kung ano yung magpapasaya sa'yo.

And alam mo kung paano dalhin yung sarili mo on that path.

Living, as it is, is very hard already. So try to enjoy it, but enjoy it responsibly.
