And I'm going to share with all of you guys kung ano ba yung experience ko with a hair transplant

at ano ba yung mga tips na mabibigay ko sa mga tao ngayon that's experiencing hair loss.

I actually started experiencing hair loss siguro mga 7 or 8 years ago.

If I remember correctly, it was around 2015 to 2016.

At nalaman ko na may hair loss problem ako nung nagigising ako sa umaga

at nakikita ko yung pillow ko punong-puno ng hair.

Not only that, when I take a shower, I would see hair on the drain.

Then, slowly but surely, napansin ko na that my hair was thinning.

And this is when I started to consider getting a hair transplant.

Well, I was considering going completely bald, shaving my head,

and eventually shaving it enough so that it's completely bald.

Pero I figured, if I had a chance to save my hair, why not?

The fact is, no hair clinic can ever promise

to back your hair or to make hair grow back where there was no hair.

Kaya huwag ka maniniwala sa mga kahit na anong mga treatment na nandiyo dyan

The only thing they can do is improve the growth of the hair that's currently in your head

or stop your hair from falling off.

I'm very meticulous and I like doing research.

So before I got a hair transplant, pinag-aralan ko na lahat to.

I checked out all the different treatments and all the different types of hair transplants.

And after five years of figuring out if I want to get a hair transplant,

I finally did it and I got it with Clinique de Paris in Makati, in the Philippines.

is the new technique called DHI,

Hair Implantation.

The difference between that and the old way of doing it,

ang FUT is Follicular Unit Transplant,

which is taking a strip of your head from the back,

that's the donor area,

and then implanting each one on the recipient area.

Yung FUE naman is Follicular Unit Extraction,

which is taking one graft at a time and then planting it on the top of your head.

Now, both methods require an incision,

para ma-implant yung hair on the recipient area or kung saan yung thinning area.

With the DHI technique,

you use a pen to be able to implant it directly without the need for an incision.

So, hindi mo na kailangan i-cut open yung scalp para lagyan ng hair graft,

which means that your head will heal faster and it will give you a more dense result.

and I was so excited to get to today, a year later.

And I'll share with you guys my one-year experience with a hair transplant,

and what are my expectations,

and what are the myths,

and some of the questions I had with regards to this experience.

So, number one,

some people think that a hair transplant will stop your hair loss.

It doesn't stop the hair loss.

What it does is it adds more permanent hair,

which is coming from the donor area,

and puts it on the thinning area of your head.

Okay, first, I want to answer the question that some of you may have.

Basically, for me, I got over 4,700 grafts

placed from the back to the top of my head.

And the cost of a procedure like that is about P400,000.

Is it worth the investment?

Absolutely, because this will last you a very long time.

I would say it is the best investment I've ever made.

So, is my hair thicker now?

Yes, it is.

Now that my hair is completely back and it's nice and thick,

ano ba yung aking routine moving forward?

And what should you do?

If you're experiencing hair loss?

Number one, you have to be able to prevent the hair loss from happening.

And the only effective way that I know to do that is to use finasteride.

What you have to do is take one milligram of finasteride a day.

Now, I know what some of you are thinking,

na may danger yan of actually lowering the male libido

and you might get ED.

Okay, that's a myth.

The reality is less than 10%.

As a matter of fact, I think it's 1% to 2%.

Of the world population would ever experience ED.

Everyone else will be okay.

Now, if in case that you are part of the 1% to 2% that experience it,

just get off finasteride and you're back to normal.

So, there's no permanent side effect to it.

But finasteride is the only way to be able to stop or at least minimize hair loss.

By the way, this advice is only for men.

I don't advise women to take finasteride.

I think you should consult your doctor if you have hair loss as a woman

because there's a different treatment for that.

Use minoxidil.

And I use minoxidil because minoxidil is proven to help hair growth

and to strengthen your hair.

And I actually use the minoxidil foam versus the oil

dahil ginamit ko na yung oil before at napansin ko with the oil,

parang kumakati yung aking scalp.

And with the foam, it just feels like I'm using mousse

and I'm able to style pa my hair after I use it.

Also, if you want to add this to your routine,

you can also get the low light laser therapy helmet.

This is the helmet that I use.

And I do this every other day.

What it does is it actually creates the right frequency

to be able to stimulate the hair to grow.

And I've found this to be very effective for me.

Next, I would recommend na gumamit ka rin ng oil treatment.

For me, I like VCO.

I do this in the evening and I leave the VCO overnight.

Other people are actually saying to use castor oil.

And some people are saying naman argan oil.

For me, most oils are actually good for the hair.

And the scalp.

And it will help strengthen your scalp and your hair.

And I have seen people use these oil treatments

and they have very nice thick hair.

And for those that are comfortable doing this,

stop using shampoo.

I haven't used a shampoo in a while.

And you know what I've noticed?

Pag gumamit ka kasi ng shampoo,

matapang yung karamihan ng shampoos na ginagamit natin.

And it strips away the natural oils in the scalp

and in the hair.

Kaya nga after you use the shampoo,

di ba nagko-conditioner ka pa

para mabalik yung moisture ng hair mo.

That sounds weird to me.

And ang napansin ko nga after I stopped using shampoos,

my hair feels a lot healthier.

Not only will you save your hair and your scalp,

you'll also save a lot of money

from not buying shampoos and conditioners anymore.
