There's only two weeks left until taxes are due and here's what you need to know to file an extension.

For most taxpayers in the U.S., the deadline to file their federal tax return, pay any tax owed, or request an extension to file is Monday, April 15.

But you can ask for more time by filing an automatic six-month extension by April 15 without citing any explanation to the IRS.

This extension only gives you more time to file your federal income tax return, but you must still pay all your taxes owed for 2023 by the April 15 deadline.

Otherwise, you could face fines and penalties in addition to the taxes you owe.

There are payment plans available to people who do not have the money to pay their tax bills by April 15.

Migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border continue night and day, despite placements of barriers, a wall, and National Guard troops.

A Court of Appeals judge is scheduled to hear arguments on Wednesday

and decide if Texas Senate Bill 4 violates the U.S. Constitution.

SB 4 would authorize police to arrest and detain migrants suspected of illegally crossing the border from Mexico.

America is always welcoming to those people who want to go here for a quote-unquote American dream.

But you need to do and you need to follow the law.

Joseph Modesto, a Filipino who lives in the border town of Brownsville, Texas, says

he's personally seen the desperate situation of some of the migrants crossing the U.S. Constitution.

One time I crossed the border and I saw tons of people just lying on the floor

and you can really, so concerned about them because I don't know how are they going to live like that, that kind of situation.

people continued to attempt to cross the U.S.-Mexico border,

but were stopped and sent away.

They were sent back to a dry riverbed

where migrants gathered around the fires by the National Guard.

confronted Biden administration lawyers

in a federal appeals court over Senate Bill 4 recently.

The controversial Republican-backed law

would let state authorities arrest and prosecute people

suspected of illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

This law is currently on hold

as it faces scrutiny over its constitutionality,

particularly,

concerning the authority it grants to local judges

to order migrants back to Mexico

regardless of nationality.
