Nang panahon ng Amerikano, the 20th century,

tumami ang pagtayo ng tulayan.

It was after independence that a bridge would connect major island groups

and other bridges were scattered all over the country.

Railroad bridges became a necessity as the arrival of the trains arrived as well.

Majority of these bridges were destroyed during World War II.

And today, these bridges that connect Manila to the north
