As a beginner student I could use further explanation...po. I also recently encountered "kalimutan" in a lesson in which the included grammar stated that the verb affix ka-...-an has direction-POD, differentiated from their use of object-POD. Having only just encountered direction-POD and not yet completely understanding its use, I am not sure how to correlate their direction-POD into the focus terms used on tagalog.com. ("They" being "LearningTagalog" and the associated Essential Reference Grammar.) Any help would be appreciated.

@repolyo I own the book you're referencing and it does say POD: Direction, however something I noticed is that there is no grammatical difference between the two. The object/direction are both marked by ang /or ang pronoun. Whatever helps you realize the language more. Personally I would trust the book over me.

@repolyo It is also worth noting that there are grammatical errors in that grammar book. However I'd still recommend it for beginners.

@repolyo The book says the difference is that direction would be like "write to Mary, write to me, ask the doctor, ask her", while object would be like "write a letter, write a list, ask a question, ask his name". In other words, if it's towards something, it's direction, otherwise it's object.

@PinoyTaj the root word of kalimutan is "limot"
The conjugation
Kinalimutan > past tense
Kinakalimutan > present participle
Kakalimutan > future tense
