Question: Makapál ang apog?

@AsikotNaPaham I don't hear or see "apog" much but from the definition you shared, the direct meaning of it is someone who is shameless/dense. I can see why you're getting confused about the phrase "makapal ang apog," because it's like it doesn't make sense to say "makapal ang shameless". But this often happens in Tagalog wherein the words aren't properly used but you can still get the meaning context-wise. It's like with "hiya" wherein people either say "walang hiya" or "makapal ang hiya (yes, instead of mukha)" but they both pertain to someone who is shameless.

@PinoyTaj, no further explanation if it's an idiom. Kelan pa ba natin ipinagbahalà kay Batman ang mga bagáy-bagáy. 'Di ba?
@DenC, when I first heard it, I also thought apog was apdó. I thought it meant brave given the context. Someone who had thick bile made me think of someone who had guts.

Apog is also a hard limestone like chemical substance so the idiom does make sense.
