I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. What do you mean by vowel or consonant in terms of verb forms?

Kamusta po.
www.seasite.niu.edu/tagalog/tagalog_verbs.htm
This website might help.
I wrote down A few different verbs with all their different forms and then was able to spot a few patterns, like which ones repeat the first syllable and where to put it etc.

I also use this one from time to time to check if I have wrote a verb correctly.
www.verbix.com/languages/tagalog.htlml

I’ve heard Memrise is good but I haven’t used it yet.

@Caroline88 @n5qwf

I would just be careful with the Verbix website. It looks like the conjugations are automatically generated AND I noticed a number of very wrong entries in there. Best bet is to just look up some verbs in the dictionary here. When you click on a verb from the dictionary search it will show you the full conjugation of the verb.

Conjugations are like the "lifeline" of Tagalog grammar and you can have 1,001 ways to conjugate a single root word. You could also literally build new vocabularies by simply conjugating. For example, luto means cook but depending on how you conjugate it, words for utensils (pangluto/pinangluto), kitchen (lutuan), can be "created".

Learning the Tagalog verb system takes a lot of patience and expose yourself so you can get a "feel" of the language. Most Filipinos who speak Tagalog usually conjugate by how it "feels", this is why most Filipinos have a hard time explaining the grammar unless they have formal training in the Tagalog grammar

Pay attention to the pronounciations. Many words are spelled the same, but can have slightly different pronounciation and that changes the entire meaning of the word.

Call a friend kaíbígan, not káibigán unless you want to be slapped in the face.

Or say malaki ang susó because if you say malaki ang súso, you will marked as a pervert. Haha

I found the following webpage extremely helpful:
owlcation.com/humani ties/Filipino-Verbs- and-Tenses

It gives me a good explanation and I use it in conjunction with the Verb Flashcards on this Site.

As a serious Tagalog Student it is very hard to get good resources.

Here is another Web page: talktagalog.com/your first100tagalogsente nces/

I am going to make flashcards based on these sentences and try and learn them. Then I am going to start speaking to my relatives in earnest. That's the plan! s @frankiko

@n5qwf what do you mean? Are you referring to the tenses of verb in Filipino?

@Cuesclue yes when to use mag um in for which verbs to make sentence past, present, or future easily. There seems to be countless options.

Tagalog does not really have tenses but aspects.

Tenses are usually derived from context rather than conjugation. An incomplete aspect ("present tense") can be used to describe an event in the past in Tagalog.

Naghihilamos ako kahapon, nang may kumatok sa pintuhan.

@n5qwf I am using this Site to make my flashcards, as I find it has the best flash cards and ways of adding and editing them overall that I have found. I was able to add the first 20 phrases from the talktagalog.com/your first100tagalogsente nces/ pdf page very easily and am working to become fluent in them. The only downsides are that you need to have an internet connection and the I cannot add pictures or audio.

In the past I have used ANKI (search Google or YouTube for info) to overcome these issues, but at present I am more than happy to use the Flashcard system on this site.
