IMPERATIVES
We will focus on Imperatives only with different affixes since they use the basic or infinitive form of the verb.
 
Tulog (sleep) = V
 
ACTOR DIRECT /ma-V ka,kayo/ to sleep
[MA]tulog ka/kayo.
'Go sleep.'
 
ACTOR INVITE /ma-V tayo/ to sleep
[MA]tulog na tayo.
'Let's sleep already.'
 
CAUSATIVE /ika-V/ to cause sleeping
[IKA]tulog mo sana ang pag-iyak.
'May you sleep because of crying.'
 
INSTRUMENTAL /ipang-V/ to use for sleeping
[IPAN]tulog mo itong pajamas.
'Sleep with these pajamas.'
 
OBJECT /i-V/ to turn something into sleep
[I]tulog mo 'yang problema.
'Sleep on that problem'
(Instead of worrying about that problem, go sleep)
 
LOCATIVE /V-an/ to sleep on someone/a thing
Huwag mo akong tulug[AN]
'Don't sleep on me.'
 
COMITATIVE /ka-V-an/ to have sleep occuring with another person or thing at the same time
(to sleep while doing something or with someone)
Huwag mong [KA]tulug[AN] ang sinehan.
'Don't fall asleep at the cinema theater'
 
ACTOR ACCIDENTAL /maka-V/ to sleep unintenionally
Baka, [MAKA]tulog ka riyan.
'You might fall asleep there unintentionally.'
 
ACTOR ABILITY /maka-V/ to be able to sleep
[MAKA]tulog ka na sana.
'May you be able to sleep already'
 
ACTOR FACITIVE /magpa-V/ to make someone sleep
[MAGPA]tulog ka ng bata.
'(You) Put the child to bed.'
 
ACTOR COLLECTIVE /magsi-V/ to sleep as a group
[MAGSI]tulog na kayong lahat.
'All of you, go to sleep (collectively)
 
ACTOR PRETEND /mag-Vrep-an/ to pretend asleep
Huwag kang [MAG]tulug-tulug[AN]
'Don't pretend to be sleeping'
 
ACTOR SOCIAL-PARTICIPATIVE /maki-V/ to join in sleeping with others
[MAKI]tulog ka muna sa kaibigan mo.
'Ask your friend first for a sleepover.'
 
ACTOR FREQUENTLY/mag-cv-V/ to sleep frequently
Huwag kang [MAG]tutulog.
'Don't sleep frequently.'
 
ACTOR SIMULTANEOUS /mangag-V-an/ to sleep simultaneously
[MANGAG]tulug[AN] kayong lahat.
(All of you) 'Sleep simultaneously.'
 
RECIPROCAL /mag-V-an/ to sleep on each other, mostly between two people
[MAG]tulug[AN] kayo ni Ed.
'You and Ed, sleep on each other.'
 
EXPERIENCER /pa-V-in/ to allow someone to sleep
[PA]tulug[IN] mo naman kami.
'Please allow us to sleep.'
