I really like the song "Ikaw" by Yeng Constantino on your immersion page, I'd like to sing it for my girlfriend who is Filipino. One question about the line "Ligaya't pagibig ko'y ikaw". Is that appropriate to sing "ko'y" to a woman? I hear the word "kuya" a lot for older brothers, and I was wondering if I should keep that word, or change it to make it appropriate for a man singing to a woman.

@zachjanson "ko'y" here is a contraction of "ko ay", so not related to "kuya"! But I can see the cause for concern. ; ) "Ligaya't pagibig ko'y ikaw" = You are my happiness and love.Ligaya = happiness/joy
't = contraction of "at" = and
pagibig = love
ko = my
'y = contraction of "ay", a sentence inversion marker
ikaw = you
