"Kasama" does not only mean the preposition "with", but it can also be a noun that means "companion" or the adjective "included/accompanying".

When used as a noun, "kasama" comes AFTER "ang" or "ng":

"Si Mary ANG KASAMA ni John sa restaurant" = Mary is John's COMPANION at the restaurant. - "Companion" describes Mary, the subject.

"Nagháhanap NG KASAMA si John" = John is looking for A COMPANION. - Use "ng" when "kasama" is used as the OBJECT of the sentence.

"ANG KASAMA ng cellphone kapág bumilí ka ay charger" = THE ONE THAT COMES WITH the cellphone when you buy one is a charger.

When used as a preposition or an adjective, "kasama" comes BEFORE "ang" and "ng":

"Si John ay nasa restaurant KASAMA ANG pinsan niyá" = John is in a/at the restaurant WITH his cousin. (John went there with his cousin)

"Si John ay nasa restaurant KASAMA NG pinsan niya" = John is in a/at the restaurant WITH/ACCOMPANYING his cousin. (John's cousin brought him there)

"KASAMA NG cellphone ang charger kapág bumilí ka nitó" = The charger comes WITH the cellphone when you buy one.

"KASAMA ANG charger kapág bumilí ka ng cellphone" = The charger is INCLUDED when you buy a cellphone.
